 Stock Market Today’s Trading Strategies

 (Page Expire in 24 Hours)

      • Here is the trade setup for Today — Wednesday, Sept 3, 2026 based on this morning's expert views:

        Market Context Yesterday

Nifty slipped 45.45 pts to 24,579.60 and Sensex fell 206 pts to 80,157.88 after hitting intraday high 24,756 and then tumbling 234 pts from day's high. Volatility spiked due to first Tuesday weekly expiry + GST Council meeting today and US data.

The broader tone is sell-on-rally — confidence lacking in any upmove.

        Key Levels for Today

        Nifty 50:

        • Immediate support: 24,500 then stronger zone 24,400 - 24,350. Some experts also watching 24,425-24,525 and 24,325-24,400

        • Resistance: 24,700 and 24,850 — with 20-DEMA at 24,800 acting as ceiling. Failure to close above 5-day DEMA 24,613 shows weakness

        • View: Rupak De of LKP says market remains in sell-on-rise mode until it moves back above 24,850. Daily RSI bearish crossover below 50 suggests weak short-term trend

        Bank Nifty:

        • Support: 53,350-53,500 and stronger 53,075-53,225. On downside 53,850-53,750 could act as support, with 53,600-53,500 key

        • Resistance: 54,450-54,500 (50-DMA) — lower top formation intact, buying interest only at lower levels

Global cues to watch today: GST Council outcome, US manufacturing PMI / jobs / inflation, crude oil, GIFT Nifty indicating +117 pts start today, FII net selling vs DII buying

3 Strategies Traders Are Using Today

        1. Sell-on-rally / Range Sell (Intraday Index) Don't chase morning gap-up. Wait for Nifty to bounce to 24,700-24,750 zone and look for reversal with strict stop above 24,850. Target first support 24,500 then 24,400. This is the dominant view: "Any dips down to 24,300-24,200 could be buying opportunities for 1-2 sessions, but upmove above 24,750 needed for short covering" — so keep long positions light until breakout.

        2. Defensive Sector Rotation Yesterday top gainers were FMCG (Tata Consumer, Nestle), PowerGrid, Media, Metal while Financials, Banks, Auto dragged. Strategy: long FMCG / Metal on dips, avoid fresh longs in Banks until Bank Nifty holds above 54,000.

        3. Stock-specific momentum (from today's analyst picks) Experts for Sept 3 recommend — educational examples, not advice:

        • HBL Engineering ₹854.45 — lifetime high breakout, RSI 81, target ₹894, SL ₹835

        • NALCO ₹200.55 — new high after many attempts, target ₹220, SL ₹191

        • CG Power ₹739.65 — breakout above ₹720, target ₹770, SL ₹724

        • Greaves Cotton above 227 / dips to 217, SL 207, target 247-257

        • Jay Bharat Maruti above 93 / dips to 88, SL 85, target 99-103

All picks carry risk — high RSI / valuation stretched / cyclical exposure.

        Risk Management for Today

        • Today is Sensex weekly expiry — expect afternoon volatility like yesterday after 12:45 PM

        • Keep position size 1-2% per trade, use defined stop-loss. Don't average a losing intraday position

        • If Nifty breaks below 24,400 on closing basis, next downside 24,000-23,800 likely — avoid bottom-fishing without confirmation
