  • The three major factors that convinced Trump to pause the 13-day consecutive bombing campaign include: 

  • 1. Giving Space to Diplomatic "Off-ramps" 

  • The primary reason publically stated by the administration is to allow backchannel negotiations to breathe. A high-level Omani diplomatic delegation recently arrived in Tehran to broker traffic management protocols for the Strait of Hormuz. According to Axios, Trump privately directed his team to "keep talking," concluding that the current level of airstrikes had hit its limit of effectiveness without launching a full-scale, unmanageable combat campaign. Trump stated that while U.S. forces remain "locked and loaded," pursuing a deal right now is "the smarter strategy."
